Who's to blame?
So, four "activists" from a whack-a-doodle pacifist "Christian peace group," two Canadians, a Briton and an American, have been kidnapped in Iraq by a Muslim terrorist organization.
In case you've forgotten Nick Berg, the terrorists in Iraq have a thing for videotaping while they saw their screaming hostage's head off. Well, screaming until they sever the trachea, then it's sort of a wet gurgling.
Anyhow, the pathetic pacifists at the home office have issued a statement of outrage at those responsible for the abduction of their gentle, kindly, ever-so-peaceful comrades.
They're pissed at the terrorists, right?
Ahem.
A PEACE group blamed the US and Britain yesterday for the abduction of four activists shown in an insurgent video, saying the kidnapping was the direct result of the occupation of Iraq. . . .
"We are angry because what has happened to our teammates is the result of the actions of the US and UK governments due to the illegal attack on Iraq and the continuing occupation and oppression of its people," the group said.
"We are some of the few internationals left in Iraq who are telling the truth about what is happening to the Iraqi people."
On Tuesday, the Al-Jazeera satellite network broadcast video of the four men held by a previously unknown group calling itself the Swords of Righteousness Brigade.
The group claimed the activists were spies.
Spies, huh? Ouch.
Christian Peacemaker Teams is adamant that "volunteers are aware of the risks and that 'CPT does not advocate the use of violent force to save lives of its workers' even if they are kidnapped or held hostage."
Okay. Will somebody tell the U.S. military to stand down; our violent assistance won't be needed?
