Best reason for capital punishment?
I read the blog Captain's Quarters every day; it's author, Ed, is a writer of no small talent: he's actually made Canadian politics interesting. I've listed his site in my short list of must-reads on the right margin of this page (scroll down).
Captain Ed is opposed to the death penalty, but he recently posted a rebuttal by an anonymous district attorney who has written perhaps the best argument in favor of capital punishment I've ever read.
No, the nameless prosecutor is not me; I've previously said that I'm not crazy about the death penalty. But his arguments do make me think. The comments following the post are also worth reading; most are thoughtful and make worthwhile points on both sides of the issue.
