Thought jump: those flowers blooming against the broken glass are interesting. Reminds me of the Hemingway quote, when someone asked him to write the world's shortest story. "For sale. Baby shoes. Never worn."

(Back in the twenties, a young newspaperman bet his colleagues $10 - a princely sum in those days - that he could write a complete story in just 6 words. Ernest Hemingway later bragged that the six words above constituted one of his greatest stories.)

Having recently visited the Steinbeck Center in Salinas I can't even begin to imagine what he might have to say about these awesome pictures. "Travel's With Charley" anyone? Mr. Lief, you have captured the amazing images that are the central coast of CA.
