Venturans speak out
The local paper ran a story this morning sampling the opinion of a few Ventura County residents on the issue of illegal immigration.
It was a surprisingly well-written and balanced piece of reporting, penned by Tom Kisken.
I particularly enjoyed some of the comments posted by readers.

Well, "coach04" certainly changed my mind, 'cause I definitely don't want to be thought of as a "HAITER."

"Viva La Raza" - Oh really? This is a blatantly racist slogan that as a non-Hispanic person I should take as a direct insult and threat. What if I went around yelling vile Nazi-like slogans such as "White Power!" Whites, African Americans and every decent person of any race would condemn me.
The Hispanic movement is lead by overt racists. They have no love for the United States. They are here to bleed the country and to establish their own subculture in a foreign land. Beware of these racists!

I am suspicious of the true ID of coach04. It looks deliberately illiterate to me. On the other hand, one can never underestimate the overall literacy of the public.

Ahnold was an illegal immigrant? I don't know about that. He came here in 1968 and won Mr. Universe, picked up Mr. Olympia 6 or 7 times and then got into acting. I will never forget Conan the Barbarian. Schwarzenegger became naturalized in 1983 but I coulnd't find anything about his status before that.
Regardless, idiots like coach04 should be allowed to post their thoughts unedited. It just strengthens the case for enforced immigration laws.
