Who says politics isn't funny?

I still think Mike Huckabee is a nanny-state RINO with no chance of winning the GOP nomination, but he does have a sense of humor, releasing perhaps the funniest legitimate political ad in the history of the universe.

Brilliant. Right there with the Thompson cigar-poking riposte to his critics. This is, at least, an interesting time.

"Chuck Norris doesn't do a push up..." damned funny stuff. i wish the pols out there would exhibit a little more humor. huck's got a sense of humor at least.

The problem is that Huckabee has little to offer, other than his sense of humor and affable personality. He's a lightweight, the GOP's Obama.

Strange, I find Huck to be one of the few true conservatives, much better than Paul with his misguided ideas on the war on terror. His score on www.ontheissues.org puts him well into the right-leaning conservative category.

Who do you all think is more conservative? If there is anybody who is a RINO for sure it's Rudy.

Yeah, he sounds more conservative than the rest of the GOP candidates, but his record as governor isn't quite so great. I have a tough time with his affection for tax hikes, as well as his belief that Big Daddy Gummint is here to take care of us.

Who's better? Well, I like Fred Thompson, but I'm not confident he'll manage to claw his way to the top of the GOP herd, based on his performance so far.

Romney? Meh.

Giuliani? Not good on guns. Or illegal immigration. But he'd be for killing jihadis by the bushel, which is always desirable in a president.

Here's the thing: I rarely find a candidate I love, so elections become about casting a ballot against the more loathsome candidate.

I can't conceive of ever casting a ballot for any of the Democrats, based on their abysmal performance in the last debate, which means any one of the GOP fellows is still better than the Dems.

But I don't think Huckabee has what it takes to win the nomination, not to mention the general election.
