The Few, The Proud, The Marines
I saw this commercial for the first time last night -- and it did what every ad exec dreams of: it stopped me in my tracks, made me forget what I was doing, sent chills up and down my spine.
And brought tears to my eyes.
What was it selling?
Courage. Honor. Patriotism.
The United States Marines.
Take a little less than two minutes and give it watch. Then read about it here.
And, yeah, those are M-1 Garands.

It got me too.
I would stand anywhere with a gunnery sergeant and two E-3s.

Yeah. I've always been very grateful to see the Marines. It always meant the hardest work was done and I could have a rest. Sort of how the Marines feel about the Army. Or how the Cub Scouts feel about the Air Force.

This must have been video they were shooting that caused that kurfuffle in SF when the city wouldn't let them film in the financial district

That's really cool. Thanks for posting the video. I got to take my boys to see the USMC Silent Drill Team perform their summertime Sunset Parade at the Iwo Jima Memorial and it was AWESOME.

Thank you so much for having the Marine Commercial. I saw it for the first time at the Charger game Sunday and was hoping I could get it.
Yes, it gave me goosebumps and I am so proud of our Marines.
Thank you again,
Penny
