Feminist icon on Palin: One helluva candidate
“We may be seeing the first woman president. As a Democrat, I am reeling,” said Camille Paglia, the cultural critic. “That was the best political speech I have ever seen delivered by an American woman politician. Palin is as tough as nails.”
“Good Lord, we had barely 12 hours of Democrat optimism,” said Paglia. “It was a stunningly timed piece of PR by the Republicans.”

To echo Bill's thought, I want the candidates to step up to the podium and say, "during my career I have accomplished the following..." I do not want to hear about offices that they have held. I do not want to hear that they were a "voice for the poor". I want to know specifically what they have done for the public.
Out of the four people who are involved in this, Obama is without a doubt the least impressive, least accomplished and least qualified.

I think my wife is almost as qualified as she is to become a vice presidential candidate. I think my wife held a higher office in the PTA at my kids' school. The Repubs must be flat on their back after last week trying to figure out how they can one up the Dems. I think that McCain basically threw in the towel with this selection. With this hurricane showing up this week it will be interesting to see if the current administration craps the bed again.
