Best movie scenes of 2009

Big Hollywood's John Nolte puts the dialogue-free opening of Up atop his list of the best movie scenes of 2009, and I've got to say -- without having yet seen the film -- that this is remarkably moving.

This visually-rich depiction of a marriage through the years isn't child's play, and clearly provides something for the parents to consider while the kids enjoy the day-glo colors and vibrant animation.

I'm almost afraid to see Up now; how can the rest of the film live up to the first four-minute's promise?

You can find the rest of Nolte's list here.

That viddy is the very sweet heart of the movie but there is much to see otherwise. The dog Dug is is a hoot and though I'm usually not much for kid actors Jordan Nagai is just note perfect as the "boy scout."
And Pixar just hasn't made a bad movie yet.
