Rainy Day Ensemble

It rained yesterday in Ventura, the first cold storm of the Fall, which meant it was time for my Rainy Day Ensemble: My old Navy trenchcoat and a fedora, much more useful (and stylish) than umbrellas -- which I loathe.

You just don't have the right umbrella. A great big honking thing that would cover a Buick, with a heavy metal frame and a genuine wood handle, well-balanced and capable of knocking an assailant senseless . . . now THAT'S the right umbrella.
