Terrorists release American journalist; says kidnappers were swell

Jill Scott, the journalist held for more than 90 days by terrorists, was released today.

Best comment on her statement to the press appeared on Little Green Footballs.

She says the terrorists treated her well.

Her interpreter, murdered during the kidnapping, was not available for comment.

Well said.

I think that the first taped statement from her which we saw was given before she was turned over to Americans--the group that snatched and held her handed her off to an intermediate party for the purpose of ultimately delivering her to Coalition forces. So she wasn't completely out of the wood when she made those statements.

Hopefully, people who care for her will keep her away from cameras long enough to assess and mitigate the psychological number done on her.

GST --

I am -- as always -- deeply skeptical, cynical and suspicious of journalists; the "Stockholm Syndrome"; and circus clowns.

Man, those clowns really FREAK me out!

Perhaps we'll hear that Carroll has had a "come to Jesus" moment while in captivity, and now supports hunting down and killing the thugs who kidnapped her and murdered her translator.

Perhaps she'll tell us that she's come to value the freedoms Americans enjoy; that we must use force in defence of said freedoms.

Of course, it's also possible that I'm about to go outside and lower the Stars and Stripes, replacing them with the rooster-eating-a-worm-from-the-bottom-of-the-tequila-bottle Mexican flag.

Well, it could happen.

This transcript doesn't look good.
